Am I An Eligible Candidate For Medical Marijuana?

Hi, I am an 18 year old, 6″5′ 240 lbs beast of a man. I have been dealing with depression ever since I could remember, sleep problems since a few years ago, and a record of a very low attention span since the first grade. Last year I sought medical attention with a psycologist and psychiatrist and have been prescribed prozac for depression, something called trazodone for insomnia, and concerta for ADHD.
I just decided to stop my ADHD medicine because I could not stand it any longer and am now about to start the non-stimulant strattera. I am thinking of stopping prozac as well and asking if I can start treatment on medical marijuana to see how I do on that. Is this a reasonable situation to ask for marijuana in? I occassionally smoke it anyways for recreational use and noticed how much better I feel. Please know that I am an honest, responsible adult and not just any pothead. How exactly would I go about getting a cannabis license? And if that does go through, how would I get a license to grow it legally?
Thanks to all those who answer. Please do not post a comment if you cannot take this seriously.

  1. Candidate. No. There is a doctor in L.Angeles that takes out ads in the penny saver with a 100$ inspection and all the problems that might justify it right there. I would be wary of using it as an antidepressant since it is in fact a depressant.

  2. You should be eligible. And the marijuana used for medical usage is not like the street type, as in it’s not nearly as bad for you. It has the stuff that gets you high, but not the addictive and the poisonous parts. I think if you are honest with your doctor and tell him/her how it really helps, he/she will prescribe you with marijuana.

  3. Depending wich country you are in,Marijuana is only prescribed for seriously ill cancer patients for pain reasons,i’m sure you know not to suddenly stop the medications you are on due to serious side effects, get to the GP ASAP & explain this problem you’re having, they may prescribe something else,it’s your choice,it the med is’nt working then it’s thier job to find a suitable replacement

  4. i don’t think that they would give you marijuana because of depression. i think that the only way that some people are able to get it legally is for physical medical issues such as cancer. they allow patients with cancer to have it legally because cancer is such a physically painful experience and typically only allow it for terminal patients and in cases where there is nothing they can do but save them pain

  5. The only way you can be a candidate for medicinal weed is if your dying. Believe me. I have SEVERE pain and they said that they only give it to terminal illnesses.
Mental illnesses dont count. Weed is a depressant, and your depressed. Not a good mix.

  6. I think you would be eligible, but just make sure you don’t get addicted, and don’t sell it until it becomes legal, it’s not bad for you since it’s never been proven to hurt you…
