Do You Think This Obama Marijuana Legalization Call In Petition Is Legit?

It is a text message I received. You call this number and vote to legalized marijuana. President Obama says he will consider it if he gets one million votes to legalize it. The number was 973.409.3274
Do you think it is even possible for it to become legalized?
What would happen in our society?

  1. well, only good would come out of legalizing it. less crime, less war…lower national deficit … though I havent heard of Obama speaking of this. He has way too many other issues he’s dealing with, compliments of our last president. this text message may have come from N.O.R.M.A.L. or another organization.

  2. It is not a scam, it is the real deal. Like stated before if 1 million responses are received then a bill would be introduced to Obama. Doesn’t mean he would legalize it. Which I’m sure he won’t at this point.(although he should) If it is legalized federally your an idiot to think every state won’t quickly follow suit. 56% of U.S. citizens are for legalization. The west coast is far higher with almost 70% in favor of legalization. It is only a matter of a few years before marijuana prohibition is over and no one will ever be thrown in jail from a proven HARMLESS substance safer than most food in your fridge. As well as being one of the most therapeutically active compounds in existence, as stated by an FDA Administrative Law Judge in a 1998 report.

  3. this about that:
This number is one of many numbers created by the novelty-number company Humor Hotlines.
Unlike other numbers from HH, Goldblatt claims this is a legitimate poll being conducted which he plans to compile and give to various contacts within the government in hopes that it will be presented to Congress and President Barack Obama.
This number is completely free and has apparently no known risks/fees associated with it outside of normal cell phone charges/minutes used/etc.
If the number reaches a certain amount of votes (1,000,000), HH has every intention to follow through and send the compiled petition to the government.

  4. If it is for real (which i doubt), this would only legalize it by federal law. States laws would still apply. Just because Congress passes a law (and it would have to be Congress that passes a law to legalize it) and Obama signs it, it does not mean state laws are automatically repealed.
Also, companies could still do drug testing and refuse to hire you if you test positive for marijuana.

  5. No, if it were legit you wouldn’t have gotten a random text. They didn’t ask for votes on whether or not they were raising taxes on cigarettes, shipping out our troops, and things of way more importance. Do I think it’s possible? They have yet to find a way to regulate and tax marijuana. Alcohol used to be prohibited, and it’s way more harmful. What would happen in society? Gangs, pimps, and drug lords would lose some power on the streets and crime would go down. Do I approve? No, not really.

  7. Don’t call it, because they might charge you. If they really wanted you to vote then it would be on the news.
