Absolutely none, there are no medical exemptions that allow it to be smoked legally. Evidence that it is any more effective that conventional therapies at producing symptom relief is no more than anecdotal anyway.

Doctors aren’t allowed to prescribe or recommend cannabis for any medical condition in the UK at present. Some medical research has indicated that it may be useful in certain conditions, but the substance used has been processed so that it does not work in the same way as “street” cannabis. However, many HIV and cancer sufferers use it to enhance their appetite and people with MS have said that it has greatly relieved their symptoms. But in the UK, it is still illegal to possess cannabis, regardless of any medical condition.

I didn’t know that the doctors would give permission to smoke anything in the uk – if this is true, then thank you – I have just learned something new.
I thought doctors would not prescribe or give permission for this sort of thing. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow to learn something new !

None at all. Medical research has indicated that the risks of using cannabis outweigh any benefits- this is why it has not and will not be legalised to be used in any medical illnesses.
