How Much Money Do The Big Drug Companies Stand To Loose If They Legalize Marijuana?
If it is made legal even just for medical purposes people who are afraid to use marijuana because it is illegal, and use prescription drugs for many different ailments will now try it and find out it works for a wide range of things. Will the drug companies now become pot farmers? If they already already haven’t started to in projection of legalization.

Pharmaceutical companies could potentially lose a lot of money due to the legalization of marijuana, this is just one issue that contributes to the governments lack of acknowledgment to marijuana’s medical value. This is also why they decided to make a synthetic THC in the form of a pill for medicine (Marinol). Funny thing is Marinol is less effective than real THC and has negative side effects.

It will not get legalized. I am sure everybody in the Senate had tried pot when they were young in the 60’s. Even the president Clinton did it, so they would have legalized it by now if they thought it was a good idea.
If pot goes medical, same pharmaceutical companies will be making and selling it instead of drugs. So they will make all the money.
And most older people will not use it b/c taking a pill is easier than smoking a joint. There’s the smell, the smoke, the risk of fire, the risk of getting hurt while high.

Not only would the drug companies lose money but so would the textile, oil, and paper industries. Before marijuana was illegal it used to be grown and hemp forms of fabric, gasoline, and paper were made.
I don’t think drug companies would lose to much money most marijuana smokers smoke other drugs, a pharmaceutical company could then grow marijuana as well.

I’m pretty sure marijuana is not great treatment for cholesterol, high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, and a whole host of other maladies.
