  1. Pharmaceutical companies could potentially lose a lot of money due to the legalization of marijuana, this is just one issue that contributes to the governments lack of acknowledgment to marijuana’s medical value. This is also why they decided to make a synthetic THC in the form of a pill for medicine (Marinol). Funny thing is Marinol is less effective than real THC and has negative side effects.

  2. It will not get legalized. I am sure everybody in the Senate had tried pot when they were young in the 60’s. Even the president Clinton did it, so they would have legalized it by now if they thought it was a good idea.
If pot goes medical, same pharmaceutical companies will be making and selling it instead of drugs. So they will make all the money.
And most older people will not use it b/c taking a pill is easier than smoking a joint. There’s the smell, the smoke, the risk of fire, the risk of getting hurt while high.

  3. Not only would the drug companies lose money but so would the textile, oil, and paper industries. Before marijuana was illegal it used to be grown and hemp forms of fabric, gasoline, and paper were made.
I don’t think drug companies would lose to much money most marijuana smokers smoke other drugs, a pharmaceutical company could then grow marijuana as well.
