I Need Medical Marijuana. Should I Tell My Mom?
Here’s the dilemma i’m at. I’m 16 years old and have had severe back problems since i was 9. The cartilage in my upper back is worn through so when i move my arms, the bones grind on each other as well as on the muscle. I also lack cartilage in both of my knees which is painful and sometimes they collapse on me. This has prevented me from the sports i love to play and also makes work very painful for me.
I smoked in middle school and stopped for a while but picked it up halfway through freshman year of highschool. It brought up my gpa a full point and i found that this is the ONLY thing that is healing my back. It helps tremendously and there is no surgery that can be done to help nor any medicine that will help because i have taken them all.
I am completely responsible when i smoke as i do it in a controlled environment such as my own home where i know i can’t get into trouble.
I want to know if i should tell my mom about this to see if i could possibly grow at least one plant.
Some people like to say that it’s all in my head but i’ll give you an example of when it worked for me so you’ll understand. I was working with my dad (instant print photography) and at the end of the night (just 4 hours long) i had to sit in the car without helping my dad pack up because i couldn’t move an inch because i was writhing in so much pain after not having used marijuana for over a month. One week later i had smoked 2 days prior to working and i was the one moving most of the equipment up and down stairs and loading up the car at the end of the night
by the way: the pain is starting to spread to my mid and lower back aswell so i really need to do something about this soon

I think you would have a better case if you got the prescription from your physician.
Me? I woudn’t buy it for a second, but you are a persistant salesman, got to give ya that.

You are in a heap of trouble/pain with insufficient cartilage. Explain to your parents that this is a form of pain management.

It may simply be easier to continue participating in the black market.

is there absolutely nothing else that helps? if there isnt then you should let your mom know that your smoking weed. im sure she will understand and it will stop problems with her finding out by herself in the future.

i would make an appointment with a doctor that is not aloud to tell your parents anything without your permission.

I think you should consult a Naturpath or a Homeopath. You may get better results from them. Go see a Chiropractor or a specialist. The Marijuana has longer term effects like lack of ambition and depression related to it. It may be helping you in the short term but long term, you could wind up in worse shape. Try all other avenues before becoming addicted to this.

your doctor is the only one that can say if you need it for medical reasons and prescribe it for you. I would try talking to them about it and see what they say and if that’s a no go and it is helping doing it they way you are is the only way…if your mom is pretty understanding you can tell her..chances are without the prescription she will want you to do something else for it. And it’s not actually healing your back it’s just killing the pain for you.
