My best friend has always been addicted to marijuana. What can I do in this situation? I am a resident of Aliso Viejo, California. What government or charitable or private organizations might help me make a difference?

You cannot do much of anything. You can let your friend know you are concerned. You can encourage your friend and stay away when he or she is using. Look in the yellow pages for drug counselors. AA/NA meetings are free. You could go to al-anon to get help coping with your friends addiction.

ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS OR NARCOTIC ANONYMOUS,both are free and you can call any-it is the same self help method.even if he-she does not drink.the phone is either on the yellow pages under alcoholic anonymous,rehabilitation centers -there look for alcoholic anonymous- or the operator should have it.talk to them and take your friend to a meeting.you do not have to pay.find out about it today!

Your best friend won’t stop smoking marijuana until he/she wants to, and nothing you do will make him/her stop. Trust me, I’ve been there, I know. There’s nothing wrong with sitting down and smoking a blunt on occasion, it’s actually alot more safe than sitting down and having a few drinks. The stigma on marijuana use is terrible, when the focus should really be on alcohol, which kills millions of people every year.
