I was in a similar situation. Pot isn't bad, and potheads aren't bad. But smoking weed is definitely a lifestyle. It is a cultural thing. And although I do not have any problems outside of being caught with it as an illegal substance, I am ultimately NOT a smoker and I find that my non-pot lifestyle is not very compatible with a pot-smoking lifestyle. I still have lots of friends who smoke, but we're also all grown adults aging anywhere between 25 and 55. If his smoking lifestyle is something that does not mesh well with your own lifestyle, get out of the relationship and move on. You can still be friends. But you cannot base a healthy relationship on conflicting interests. Or, think about how and why his smoking bothers you. If they are reasons you can live with, then accept him for who he is and stay in the relationship. It's up to you. You're in charge of your own life. Girl I feel you! I was in a similar situation.

If he wants to quit, then you gotta let him make that his choice... just like cigarettes... Once you get addicted to it...it's very hard to go cold turkey. You might as well, save your breath and energy because like I said, That's his decision, and he has to have that will-power to reject from it. You just need to be patient and support him... hopefully the day will come, when he realizes it's not what he wants anymore.
