A regular ‘family practice’ doctor may be a little hesitant to write a prescription for marijuana. But don’t fret. You can still get one. If you go to http://www.canorml.org you can find a prescribing doctor in your area, if you indeed live in one of the 13 states that have legalized medicinal marijuana. Also, for your grandmother, if she is still freaked out by the idea of smoking a “joint”, no worries. There are several different administration routes. Cookies, brownies, cereal, lotions, mouth sprays, lip balm…the list goes on and on. Seriously, find a doctor who prescribes medicinal marijuana and convince her to take it. It will help tremendously. I promise.

is it decriminalized/legal for medical use where you live?
if so she should be less against it…but i say just say to her grandma im really worried about you and buy her a sack (if you dont know any dealers go to a skatepark and ask someone who looks like a pothead/is wearing spades on there clothing)
just buy a gram for her to start off and see if it helps

For one, it’s not legalised yet. So she wouldn’t be able to take it anyway. If her doctor thought it would be a good idea, he/she would have already considered it.
Secondly, I took a class where we looked into the medical use of marijuana and it does not eliminate the need for all other pain medications. It also doesn’t work on everyone the same way. Some people in tests even had to go on additional medication.
