Should It Be Illegal To Grow One Cannibis Plant?
I accually did this a year and a half ago and got arrested. I was wondering what you guys thought about this. I got put through hell. I am 18 and a half and am still suffering because of it. I should be saving money for college but they slap a huge fine on me($1685), of which I am still paying off, for one plant growing in my room under my fluresent lamp along with my other plants(peppers, jade plant, assorted cacti, snake plant, english ivy, and some peruvian goldenberrys). Oh yeah I am going to study botany in college. I was growing the plant out of curiosity mostly although I have to admit to using the herb several times before. The core of the question is the laws against marijuana have caused more harm to me than the use of the drug ever did? Is this right? Also shouldn’t I be the boss of what I choose to put into my own body? The laws and probation still can’t control my use, of which I have used while on probation, so why do they try so hard to ruin my life?

Just because a law doesn’t make sense is no reason to knowingly break it.
Should it be illegal? In my personal opinion, probably not. Is it illegal? Apparently yes. Did you know it was illegal at the time you broke it? Sounds like it.
If you don’t like the law, change the law. Remember, just about every civil rights leader in the 1960s who stood up in defiance of bad laws were also prosecuted (successfully) under them. It’s not about whether the laws are good or not. It’s about whether, as a country, we are going to respect the rule of law.

The positive law states that growing marijuana is a crime. If you got caught, that is your own mistake. Do I agree with the law? No. Do I follow it? Yes. The consequences of being caught are too much to bear, especially if you don’t want it to affect your future. You only have yourself to blame. Just because we don’t agree with laws doesn’t mean we have the right to break them – that’s a pretty slippery slope. If you disagree with a law, then work to change it, but don’t break it. And the law itself didn’t cause you harm – your breaking of the law and getting caught is what got you in hot water.

Is it illegal? Yes, in most states. Should it be? I don’t think so. There are far more dangerous drugs that are readily available and legal, like alcohol and tobacco. Keep in mind that your drug conviction will disqualify you from certain types of financial aid, also.
Bottom line is – it is currently illegal. You did the crime, you do the time.

It is Illegal!!!
Do yourself a favor and find out the laws –
WHO KNOWS, MAYBE THIS ALL HAPPENED TO GET YOU TO LEARN, TO KNOW ABOUT OTHER THINGS; PERHAPS EVEN FOR YOU TO FIND A CAREER RELATED TO THIS EVENT.
Look towards your future and see where you want to take yourself.
Be the captain of your boat.
Accept the lesson and choose be happy
Ignorance of the law does not make it legal.

No matter how you try to justify it. It’s still against the law. So you took a risk and got caught, be a man and don’t whine about paying the consequences.
I speed, and I get tickets, but I will not complain about them doing their job when I was the one at fault.
