What Does It Mean When Your State Has Medical Marijuana?

My state (Michigan) just passed a medical marijuana bill. What does this mean? Will marijuana be more prevalent? Is this just to get a foothold in legalizing marijuana altogether?

  1. Medical marijuana laws vary from state to state. Michigan is now the 13th state to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes but within those 13 states are different laws and regulations.
In general it just means that, if a doctor feels you would benefit from marijuana (there are a large amount of ailments that benefit from marijuana) and you clear for a license through your state you can use a specified amount of marijuana for a specified time for medicinal purposes.
Some people might see it as just a stepping stone to full legalization but that is truly not the objective of most medical marijuana programs.

  2. It means you can have a small amount on you for medicinal purposes if you have a prescription. Personally I think they should legalize marijuana. It will prevent people from having to go to a dealer and being pushed to try something easier to come by, meth.

  3. medical marijuana means that your docter can give you a prescription to obtain marijuana legally. Most docters beleive that is will help with gloccoma and other medical problems.
