  1. The government can not control taxes on it. It can be homegrown just as moonshine use to be illegal in the old days but the gov’t soon found a way to use that to there benefit and voila taxes appeared on it. The government can’t keep an eye on all the farmers who grow a little for themselves so what else is there to do but consider it illegal….
Notice how cocaine and heroin still seems to slip through the cracks of society that’s because the big brother looks the other way sometimes…

  2. For a few reasons:
    1. Marijuana is deemed the “gateway” drug, or in other words, it’s what people do before moving onto more serious drugs. If I hadn’t started smoking marijuana, I probably wouldn’t have experimented with other drugs either.
    2. It slows the reflexes and although it is not physically addictive, it is psychologically addictive and sometimes brings about lack of drive/motivation.
    3. Unlike alcohol, it’s not known as a ‘social cohesive’ and instead makes people withdraw. The fact it’s usually smoked doesn’t help either–cigarettes are in enough trouble.
In my opinion, Marijuana is virtually a harmless drug if taken responsibly, and, in most caes, it is much better for you than alchohol. States are already approving medical uses for marijuana, and according to an article published by the New York Times, it said to be labeled soon as the “aspirin of the 21st century”

  3. Because it can be home grown with high quality, if legalized, it would destroy the liquor industry, which is a huge contributor to political campaigns.

  7. Both are very useful. The world is changing, my friend. Soon it will be legal, I give it 5 years in my state (NV) maybe more elsewhere.
