Will Marijuana Ever Be Legalized?
will weed ever be legalized in cali , i kno medical marijuana is legal , and the other marijuana laws are realy lax and loose , but y dont they just legalize it ??????? i heard that like because they cant tax it ? also how much trouble can you get into in cali for growing weed , but its not with intent to sell or distribute for a minor ??
Probably eventually. Opinions on the matter are very divided by age. Older people are terrified of “drugs,” even though pot is a lot less dangerous than alcohol. Younger people are not. You just have to wait for the old people to die off or stop voting.

I don’t understand why they don’t legalize and I don’t see why they can’t tax it? They tax the hell out of cigarettes. If the government would stop wasting money on these anti-drug campaigns for marijuana, (which I think is a lot safer than alcohol considering stoners don’t like to go out and drive after they smoked, they don’t like to get in fights, they stay out of people’s way), and start taxing it, they could make a lot of money. Especially considering how much money we pay (through taxes) to put people in jail, and through the court system because they got busted with an eighth. I think a lot of adults and people who have never tried weed have these awful images of what it does to people. Check out the movie reefer mania, I think it still holds true to this day (just maybe not so extreme). It shows how in the 50′s people thought that marijuana was the awful drug that could do all these awful things. Much like the way people might think about crystal meth nowadays. But I don’t live in Cali, so I’m not sure how much trouble you can get into. Go grow it in an open field and you won’t have to worry about it!

I think one day it will be legaized everywhere in america. If cali does it, then the others have to follow, after all, it is cali. I dont like to smoke cannabis, i hate the feeling, but i do stand for it being legalized so we can stop hearing about it one the news and filling up our jails with nothing.
Actually, I think one of the top reasons people do it is because it IS illegal. It gives you an adrenaline rush to do something out of the box. It gives young people a feeling of rebellion, and thats the generation where it will probably become legal.

I believe it will assuming there’s a shift in our politics. Not that I do it (it’s never worked any wonders for me
), but it’s so widely-used that it’s going *have* to be legalized eventually.

everybody thinks medical marijuana is legal in California THIS IS NOT TRUE at all. Even though they may have passed state laws for it there is still a federal law that classifies it as a scedule I drug and is illegal. Anything the federal government does will always overrule any law a state passes. For some reason though federal officials do seem to turn a blind eye to medical marijuana in california.

I believe it will someday…more people than you think Smoke pot!!! ALOT OF PEOPLE ..and unlike Drinking or other drugs you would never know it because they still have a life…It just helps with the stress a little…LOL

I hope so !!! i wouldn’t go crazy and smoke every day but u can walk down the street blowing a L without the cops dickeating that would be hot but then again people might abuse there authority and start smoking weed in school and alot of other places like court …( just hypothetically speaking)

People say it can’t be taxed because people can just grow it themselves and the government won’t make much money. Well I say look at Amsterdam, its legal over there and their coffee shops get a ton of customers. Why won’t those customers just grow it themselves? I still think if it were legal and taxed, that people will go to liquor stores and buy it wheres its placed next to the alcohol.
